Junior Djacba's double against Aigle Royal de Moungo on 20 April 2023 did more than settle a match 2-0: it sent Victoria United back up to Elite One after the drop they had taken in 2004.

That changed inside two seasons. Promotion in 2022/23 was followed by the title itself in 2023/24, Victoria United's first Elite One championship and the first won by any club from Limbé. It came at the direct expense of Coton Sport FC de Garoua, which had held the league for three straight years before OPOPO broke the run. A second-place finish in 2024/25 suggested the title had not been a one-off.

The Coupe du Cameroun has been less kind: a quarter-final in 2017 and a Round of 16 exit in 2024 are as far as the club has gone. The CAF Champions League brought a similar lesson in the gap between domestic and continental form — Victoria United went out to Ghana's Samartex FC in the first qualifying round, and had to play their leg not at home but at the Japoma Omnisport Stadium in Douala, since Limbé Stadium had not been CAF-certified.

That ground, known locally also as Limbe Omnisport or Limbe Centenary Stadium, holds 20,000 and remains the club's base whenever the certificate isn't the issue.
