Romanian Cup Women 2025/26

The Romanian Women's Basketball Cup serves as the premier domestic knockout tournament for clubs in Romania. Organized by the Romanian Basketball Federation, the competition has operated since 1965. It stands as a distinct entity within the national pyramid, separate from the annual league standings or the single-match Super Cup.

The format currently centres on a Final Four mini-tournament. This final stage features four clubs competing in two semi-finals and a final, all held at a single venue over a short period. While the number of teams in earlier rounds varies, the conclusion always involves four participants. The winner receives a berth in the EuroCup Women or the FIBA Europe Cup, subject to federation regulations for the specific season.

Historical dominance is shared between two clubs. CSM Târgoviște and Sepsi SIC Sfântu Gheorghe are tied with ten titles each. Sepsi SIC achieved a particularly strong run, winning seven consecutive titles from 2018 to 2023. CSM CSU Constanța claimed the title in 2024 before Sepsi SIC secured the 2025 edition.

The competition does not involve promotion or relegation. Unlike the league, which determines the national champion and primary European qualifiers, this Cup is a standalone trophy. It differs from the Super Cup, founded in 2014, which features a one-off contest between the league leader and the Cup holder. The Cup remains the more historically significant trophy, involving a multi-stage knockout process.
