CSBT Alexandria Women

Sala Sporturilor holds 1,500 people in three tiers – 1,350 general seats, 100 VIP places and 50 for the press – and it has been home to the women's basketball club.

The club itself started in 1986 as CS Teleorman Alexandria, ran as CSBT Alexandria from 2005, and has played as CSM Alexandria since 2018. Green, navy and white have stayed constant through all three identities, as has the nickname the town gave its players: Teleormănencele, the women from Teleorman.

The nearest the old CSBT side came to silverware was the 2008–09 Cupa României final, lost 65–49 to MCM Târgoviște. A top-flight title has never followed, but under the current CSM name the club won the Liga I in 2024–25, beating ACS Hoya KSE Târgu Secuiesc in the final to earn promotion back to the Liga Națională.

Back in the top division, Alexandria returns to face CSM Târgoviște, the club long regarded as its closest rival in Romanian women's basketball.
