Sportul Bucuresti Women

Sportul Studențesc's women play in the Liga Națională, still without a top-flight title to their name.

The section grew out of the wider Sportul club in 1945, and that same year it took the Cupa Orașelor, a competition that no longer exists but marked the team's first honour.

Since then the closest it has come was a pair of runner-up finishes, losing the 2008 final to Sepsi Sfântu Gheorghe and the 2012 final to CSM Târgoviște. Between those two defeats and the 1976 win lies most of the club's competitive history at senior level; the league championship has eluded it throughout.

Known as Leii, the Lions, and playing in black and white, the club fields its home games at the Arena de Baschet, a ground that holds 300 people.

The women's section also produced a national youth title, winning the Minibaschet championship in 2017, evidence that the development pipeline has kept working even while the senior team's honours list has stayed thin. A single Cup from 1976 and two lost finals since are still the whole of it.
