The Women's British Basketball League (WBBL) title has been in London for three seasons running: 2021–22, 2022–23 and 2023–24. In the two WBBL Cup finals, in 2022 and 2023, the opponents were Newcastle both times.

The team's roots are in Barking Abbey, who played from 2008 and became the Barking Abbey Crusaders in 2014. In 2017 they merged with the men's London Lions and took the name BA London Lions. The "BA" came off in 2020, and the first season under the shorter name brought a WBBL Trophy.

2024 was the year the ceiling moved. The club also changed hands that year, acquired by a consortium of Tesonet and Žalgiris Kaunas, the Lithuanian club best known for its men's basketball side. Their combined arrival gives a domestic champion a European base to build on.

Home games are at the Copper Box Arena in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, E20. It holds 6,000 for basketball and up to 7,500 in its largest configuration.
