Borac has played in the Adriatic League's top flight since the 2020–21 season, promoted after dominating the Second Division. The club has no major title, and it has never won the Serbian Cup, where a semi-final in 1992–93 remains the furthest it has gone.

The basketball section of the "Borac" sports society was formed on 25 April 1945, with Milorad Stojanović as its first president. From 1952 to 1991 the team played in the Yugoslav First Federal League, and its best finish there was fourth in 1972–73. The home ground, Borac Hall, seats 3,000. The nickname Borci means "the Fighters", and the colours are red and white.

Sponsors have changed the name more than once: Borac Reksprom in 1992–93, Borac Mozzart Sport from 2013 to 2016, and now Borac Mozzart. From 2002 to 2009 a partnership with FMP helped young players develop. The nearest rivals are Zlatibor and Sloboda Užice, though the basketball side has no named derby with either.

The best-known name from the club's past is Dragan Kićanović, a member of the Naismith Hall of Fame. Željko Obradović, later inducted into the FIBA Hall of Fame, played here as a junior.
