Grafing

Volleyball at TSV Grafing von 1864 began in 1969, when Günter Schmidt set up a department inside the older multi-sport club, more than a century after the parent association itself had been formed. Under the name Fighting Bayrisch, the section built itself into a strong team in the town, playing in black and yellow at the Jahnsporthalle.

The club took the 2. Bundesliga South title in 2018/19 under head coach Alexander Hezareh, then turned down the promotion that came with it. Two years later, in 2020/21, the same league title arrived again. Relegation followed in 2022, dropping the side into the 3. Liga, but Grafing came straight back up in 2023.

Oliver Oetke, a four-time German champion and Olympian, started out here before his career carried him elsewhere. The fixture that still sharpens attention each season is against VC Eltmann, known locally as the Volleyball-Bayernderby, with TSV Mühldorf providing the closer regional needle.
