Karlsruhe II moved into the 2. Bundesliga South this season on the back of a title in the third tier. It plays under the same Baden Volleys branding the first team carries, a marketing name adopted for the 2019/20 season, though its own volleyball department traces back further, to 1968, a year after the parent club, SSC Karlsruhe, was formed.

The second team's job has long been to feed the flagship side that competes in the 1. Bundesliga, and that relationship shapes how its own promotion reads: winning the 3. Liga Süd in 2024/25 was not just a result but a step up a ladder the first team had already climbed twice before, taking the 2. Bundesliga Süd in 2023 and again in 2024.

Home games are played at the Lina-Radke-Halle, shared with the basketball side PS Karlsruhe Lions, in a city whose volleyball rivalry with FT 1844 Freiburg is known locally as the Baden-Derby. The club takes the field in red and yellow.
