Ivanovo Energy Women

Its women's basketball team came from somewhere else: the Ivanovo State Power University, where a student side became the club in 2001 and took the name Energy. Tigresses is the nickname, taken from an orange and black kit that looks like tiger stripes. The club is still the only professional women's team in the city, so there is no local derby. The rivalry that matters is with Chevakata-2004 from Vologda, another Superleague side.

Its route through the divisions has run in both directions. Energy won the Higher League, the third tier, in 2005, and the Superleague in 2011. It earned promotion to the Premier League.

The 2015/16 season was the worst. The club ran out of money and disbanded in mid-season, and the team did not play at all in 2016/17. It came back in 2017 as Dynamo-2, and later as Dynamo-Energy, a farm team of Moscow Dynamo. In 2020 it regained its independence and the name Energy. Until 2021 it also used the small Energy sports complex, which holds 300, before settling fully into the Palace of Games Sports, which holds 2,500.

The recent seasons have brought the club back into view. In 2024/25 it finished second in the Superleague, which secured promotion to the Premier League for 2025/26. That season the home crowd reached 1,232, a record for the club. Energy now plays in the Premier League for the first time since that 2011 title.
