Dynamo Moscow Women

Dynamo's home is the Basketball Hall Moscow on Ostrovnoy Street in Krylatskoye, a 5,000-seat arena that carried the name Dynamo Palace of Sports before it changed. The blue-and-white side has played there under a president who knows what the shirt is worth.

Basketball sections were set up in August 1923. Dynamo won the Soviet championship in 1937, 1938, 1939 and 1940, four years running. Seven more titles followed, the last in 1958. That makes 11 in the archives, although the club's own count is higher.

Under the Russian championship the pattern repeated. Dynamo won it four seasons in a row, from 1998 to 2001. The EuroCup Women came first in 2007, and again in 2013 and 2014, in consecutive seasons.

The president is Tatiana Ovechkina, a two-time Olympic champion.
