Nadezhda Women

Nadezhda's season runs through the Russian Premier League and the Russian Cup at home, and through the EuroCup Women and EuroLeague Women in Europe. The last trophy the club won was the Russian Cup in 2021, in a final against Dynamo Kursk. The Russian Super Cup that year ended with Nadezhda as runners-up.

The side Russian sports media call the Yellow-and-Burgundy began in 1994 in the First League. It spent the rest of the decade in Higher League 'B' and reached the elite division, then the Superleague, in the early 2000s. In 2011 Elena Danilochkina joined from outside the club. She was named MVP of that year's European Championship, and Orenburg's games at the Orenburzhye sports complex, which seats 3,925, became a fixture for the national-team audience.

Europe was harder to win than the domestic podium. Nadezhda lost the 2009/10 EuroCup final to Soni Afinaikos. In 2015 and again in 2016 they reached the EuroLeague final, and UMMC Ekaterinburg beat them both times. The EuroCup came in 2018/19, when they beat Montpellier in the final. A few months later they were runners-up in the FIBA EuroCup Super Cup.

At home the pattern was the same. Nadezhda lost Russian Cup finals in 2010/11, 2011/12 and 2013/14 before the 2021 win. In the league they took silver in 2013/14, 2014/15 and 2015/16, and bronze in the eight other seasons from 2009/10 to 2019/20.
