Spartak Moscow Women

The Sports Palace on Olympic Street in Vidnoye seats 3,290 for basketball, and the whole complex takes 4,000. In 2010 the team took its name from the town for a time. The Spartak sports society disputed the club's right to use the Spartak brand, so the team was renamed "Vidnoe" and later became "Sparta & K". The initial stood for Shabtai von Kalmanovich, who had founded the club in 2005.

The results came quickly. The club won the EuroCup Women in 2006, a year after it was founded. It then won the EuroLeague Women four times running, from 2007 to 2010. In the first two of those seasons it also took the Russian Premier League title. The FIBA Europe SuperCup Women followed in 2009 and 2010, when the team had already been renamed. Since then the club has played in the EuroCup Women, the competition it first won, and it still plays in the Russian Premier League. Red and white remain the colours.

The original Spartak Moscow women's club was dissolved in 2011, and the Vidnoye team is regarded as its successor. The two histories overlap. It carries no nickname beyond that.

Its main rival is CSKA Moscow, and their meeting is called the Moscow Derby.
