Kingston has never gone long without a team at Sabina Park. The Jamaica Kingsmen stepped in for a franchise that had gone quiet since 2023.

The ownership traces back to Fawad Sarwar, a Pakistani-American businessman who also holds the Hyderabad Kingsmen in the Pakistan Super League. Green, black and gold were never really in question for a Jamaican franchise; the name and the connection to Hyderabad were the parts worth explaining.

Rovman Powell captains the side, leading a squad built around Andre Russell, a Jamaican with a CPL pedigree that predates this franchise by years, alongside Pakistani imports Saim Ayub and Usman Khan.

What the Kingsmen inherited was harder than a roster. The Tallawahs had won three CPL titles before money and government backing ran out.
