St Lucia Kings

Saint Lucia joined the Caribbean Premier League in 2013 as one of six founding franchises. For its first eight years the side played as the St Lucia Zouks, broke from that name for two seasons as the St Lucia Stars, then returned to Zouks before the ownership group behind Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League bought the franchise in 2021 and renamed it St Lucia Kings.

The Kings play at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground in Gros Islet, which holds 15,000, in a kit of blue, yellow, black and white — the colours of the Saint Lucian flag.

They reached two CPL finals before they won one, losing in 2020 and again in 2021, that second defeat coming against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots. The title finally arrived in 2024, six wickets to spare against Guyana Amazon Warriors, with Faf du Plessis captaining the side he has led since 2021.

Andre Fletcher holds the franchise scoring record under all its names, 2,310 runs between 2013 and 2021. The ground itself carries the name of Daren Sammy, a Saint Lucian and West Indies World Cup winner who captained the side from its first season until 2020 and has coached it since.
