Paisas

Paisas did it twice inside a year without losing their nerve in either series. The 2025-I title came against Caimanes del Llano, settled in three matches, and by the second half of the season the same squad had turned that into a habit: three more games against Cimarrones del Chocó and a second Liga Profesional de Baloncesto de Colombia crown, enough to call themselves bicampeones before the club had marked its first birthday.

That birthday falls on 28 August 2024, when the team took over the license of the defunct Tigrillos de Medellín and set out to carry Antioquia's colours rather than start from nothing. The gold, green and black kept faith with that regional identity from the first game.

Daniel Seoane, a Venezuelan-German coach, ran the bench through both title runs. Off the court, part of the ownership belongs to Ryan Castro, a name better known outside basketball circles in Medellín.

Los Paisas, as the city calls them, have also taken their run beyond the domestic league, playing in the Basketball Champions League Americas. Their arena, the Coliseo Iván de Bedout, dates back to 1955 and has hosted international events on the scale of the 2017 FIBA AmeriCup, long before it became the home floor for a club barely two years old.
