LBP (Colombia) 2026/27

The Baloncesto Profesional Colombiano stands as the highest tier of professional basketball within Colombia. Organised by the División Profesional de Baloncesto under the national federation, it sits at the apex of the domestic pyramid. The competition was established in the early 1990s and relaunched in its modern professional format in 2013. It operates on a closed system where participation relies on financial viability and federation approval rather than sporting promotion from lower divisions.

The current season features eight clubs competing for the national title. The roster includes Caimanes del Llano, Caribbean Storm Islands, Cimarrones del Chocó, Motilones del Norte, Paisas, Piratas de Bogotá, alongside Sabios de Manizales and Toros del Valle. The campaign follows a structure that begins with a regular season, which has historically utilised either round-robin groups or single-table standings. Top teams progress to a playoff phase contested through best-of-5 or best-of-7 series.

Paisas hold the position of current champions following the 2025 title. In terms of historical dominance, Titanes de Barranquilla lead all clubs with nine championships, while Búcaros de Bucaramanga have secured six titles. The league distinguishes itself through its professional status and national scope, offering international qualification rights for tournaments such as the Liga Sudamericana. Media coverage and sponsorship play a central role in the competition's identity, with the league currently known as the Liga Señal Colombia de Baloncesto.
