Prat Joventut

For most of its recent life, CB Prat played under another club's name. From the 1990s until 2016 it was CB Prat Joventut, an affiliate of Joventut Badalona, and the arrangement became fully operational around 2012. It worked as a route upward: 31 players made their ACB debuts with Joventut's first team after playing in El Prat.

The affiliation sat on top of a climb that had begun earlier. Prat won the Liga EBA in 2006, having reached LEB Plata in 2003 by winning the Final Eight. In 2012 the centre Marko Todorović was named LEB Plata MVP, in a season when the team finished third with 21 wins and 13 defeats. Two years later they were runners-up on 24-11 and won the Copa LEB Plata, which took them up to LEB Oro, the second tier.

The collaboration with Joventut ended in 2016 and the club went back to the name CB Prat. In 2017-18 it finished fourth in LEB Oro with 30 wins from 42 games and reached the playoff semi-finals.

The nickname, Potablaves, "blue-and-white", also points to the town. The Prat chicken is a local breed with slate-blue legs, and the town has adopted it as its emblem. The team wears white with blue sides at home and the reverse away. Home games are played in the Pavelló Joan Busquets, a hall with 500 seats.
