In Logroño, in La Rioja, the basketball team has kept one name through a run of sponsors: Clavijo Caja Rioja, Knet Rioja, Rioverde Clavijo, Reina Yogur Clavijo. Blue for home games and white for away have stayed as constant as the name.

The club dates from 1967. Its first trophy came in 2004, a year after the city opened the Palacio de los Deportes de La Rioja, a 4,500-seat arena. That was the Copa LEB Plata. Stevie Johnson was named the division's most valuable player in 2008.

The season that changed the club's standing was 2010–11. Clavijo won the LEB Plata championship and took the Copa LEB Plata for a second time. Promotion to LEB Oro, the second tier, followed in 2011, and the club spent the seasons up to 2017–18 at that level.

Mikel Uriz was named to the All-LEB Oro Team in 2013. In 2014 Clavijo reached the play-offs for promotion to the top-flight ACB for the first time and went out in the quarter-finals. Borja Arévalo received the same All-LEB Oro selection in 2016. In the league itself, 13th place in both 2014–15 and 2015–16 was the club's best finish in LEB Oro.

The names on the shirts have changed with each sponsor. In Logroño, since 1967, the team has been Clavijo.
