The Pabellón Príncipe Felipe opened on 17 April 1990 with room for 10,744 spectators.

The present club exists because a group of local entrepreneurs wanted top-flight basketball back in the city. On 1 February 2002 they bought CB Coruña's place in LEB Oro and registered Basket Zaragoza 2002 as a separate legal entity from the old club. Getting back to the Liga ACB took them six years. They went up in 2008 and again in 2010, and the Red Tide, in red, white and black, has since played in the top division and in the FIBA Europe Cup.

The men's team has not won a national or international title since 2002. The trophies have come from the women's side, which joined the same legal entity in 2020 through an agreement with Stadium Casablanca. Casademont Zaragoza Femenino won the Copa de la Reina in 2022–23. The following season they took the Liga Femenina Endesa.

Saski Baskonia and Unicaja Málaga are the two clubs Zaragoza treat as rivals. Neither fixture has a derby name of its own.
