Azpeitia and Azkoitia share the Iraurgi valley. Iraurgi Saski Baloia was formed in 1975. The arrangement still shows: the men play at the municipal sports hall in Azpeitia, while the women play in Azkoitia.

The Basque cup, the Euskal Kopa, was the club's first regular silverware.

The league titles came in LEB Plata, in 2016–17 and again in 2020–21. Between them the club made two cup wins in a row in the Copa LEB Plata, in 2019 and 2020. Iraurgi went down in 2018 and went down again in 2023. It changed its logo in 2019, in the middle of that run.

It won the Euskal Kopa Fem 2 in 2021 and 2022, took the Liga Femenina 2 title in 2023–24, and won the Basque cup again in 2025 and 2026.

The women's team draws its own crowd in Azkoitia, across the valley.
