Primorje

Herceg Novi sits on the Bay of Kotor, and its basketball side carries the town's name straight into its own: KK Primorje 1945. The club took shape in 1945, and the year has stayed fixed to its title ever since.

Those decades produced the club's real weight. Under the old Yugoslav system, Primorje won the Montenegrin championship three times through the 1960s and 1970s, and added two Prva B Liga titles alongside them. It is still what people in Herceg Novi mean when they talk about the club's history.

Since Montenegro built its own league, the closest Primorje has come to that old standard was the 2008-09 season, when they reached the final of the Prva A Liga and lost it to Budućnost. A Montenegrin Cup semi-final in 2024 ended the same way, beaten by SC Derby.

The team plays out of the Sportski centar Igalo, a ground that holds 2,000, in the blue and yellow that gave the club its nickname, the blue-and-yellows. Since 2018 the municipality of Herceg Novi has owned the club outright, tying its finances directly to the town rather than to a private backer.

For 2025/26, Primorje have stepped up into the ABA League 2. The runners-up finish from 2009 is still the benchmark the club plays against.
