Basket Zivinice

AP Arena in Živinice holds a thousand people. The ground sits on Strašanj, and it is the only home the club has ever known, built for a team that was never meant to stay small.

Basket Živinice started out in 2018 with a narrower aim than the one it eventually met: get young people in the town playing basketball and into the regional league. A senior team followed only in 2022. It did not stay one for long.

In 2023 Basko won the A2 Liga FBiH, the third tier, and went up. Two years later it beat KK Igman Burch in the A1 Liga FBiH final, and with that result the club reached the Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the country's top flight, only seven years after it was founded to teach children the game.

Locally the fixture that matters is against KK Spartans, the other club in Živinice, a derby fought over a town rather than a trophy. Basko runs no official website, working instead through Facebook, Instagram and YouTube, in keeping with a club still closer to its grassroots start than to the division it now plays in. It keeps its address on Alije Izetbegovića street, and its games at AP Arena, where a thousand seats have followed the team up three divisions.
