Saratov

Crystal Sports Palace holds 5,500 people. Avtodor has played its home games there since taking shape as a Saratov institution.

The club started out in 1960 as Spartak Saratov, became Avtodorozhnik in 1972, and settled on the Avtodor name in 1996. That renaming coincided with the period the club is still remembered for: back-to-back Russian Super League titles in 1997–98 and 1998–99, built under Vladimir Rodionov, who coached the team through that run and later stayed on as club president until his death in 2023.

The championships did not carry the club forward in a straight line. In 2004 the Saratov franchise was moved to Saint Petersburg, and what remained of Avtodor dropped into the lower divisions before returning to the top-flight VTB United League in 2014.

Black and white have stayed the club's colours throughout, in Saratov and in the years the name existed only in the second tier.
