Dynamo Vladivostok

Dynamo Vladivostok opened September 2026 in the VTB United League, the top tier of Russian basketball, in a place vacated by the liquidated Pari Nizhny Novgorod. The club is the league's most easterly side.

Eduard Sandler, who led the team to the Superliga-1 title in 2023/24, died in July 2026. That title came in a final against Khimki, won 3:1 in the series. Sergey Kozin took over in September. Kozin works with assistants Alexey Golyakhov and Nikita Bogdanov, and Andrey Desyatnikov is captain. Ivan Strebkov and Vladimir Semenchenko are the experienced names in the squad.

The promotion followed a short climb. The club was set up in 2021 on the initiative of the Primorsky Krai leadership and the regional Dynamo sports society. Basketball in the region had lost its team the year before, when Spartak-Primorye was dissolved. Dynamo started in the second tier and won it in its third season. In 2025/26 it took bronze in the Russian Cup, and shortly afterwards received the league place.

Behind the first team sit the Dynamo Academy in Vladivostok and the BC Dynamo-2 side. The academy is directed by Vladimir Dyomin, whose son Egor plays for the Brooklyn Nets. Home games are played at the Fetisov Arena, which holds about 6,000.

Dynamo has no derby opponent. Spartak-Primorye went out of existence before Dynamo was formed, so the two never met. The club is regarded as Spartak's spiritual successor.
