The final of the Primera División B Nacional in 2022 turned on a single goal. Sportivo Carapeguá beat Deportivo Caaguazú 1:0 and went back up to the División Intermedia after seven years away.

What makes that promotion worth explaining is how short the club's history is. Carapeguá, a town in the department of Paraguarí, had a regional league of its own, and in September 2010 those clubs pooled themselves into one side with a specific purpose: to enter the second division the following year. The team existed for a season and a bit before it finished second in the División Intermedia in 2011 and found itself in the Primera División.

Two seasons followed at the top, 2012 and 2013. A club barely three years old was playing Paraguay's elite football, and then it was not.
