Widzew Lodz Women

Widzew's fiercest rivalry is with ŁKS Łódź, and every meeting between them is billed as the Łódź Derby.

The basketball section was set up in 1965 by RTS Widzew, with Stanisław Szletyński as its first coach. The team finished second in the I Liga, and a better head-to-head record than the side level with it took them up to the top flight, then the PLKK, now the Orlen Basket Liga Kobiet. Aleksandra Pawlak, a long-serving player, was the division's top scorer that season.

The top flight lasted from 2010/2011 to 2014/2015. Until 2013/2014 the club signed only Polish players; that season it brought in its first two foreigners, Tynikki Crook and Sarah Boothe. The following year it finished last and went down, and it has never won the Polish Championship or the Polish Cup.

After years in the lower leagues, the club was granted a licence and returns to the top division for 2026/2027. Home games are played at Hala Parkowa, part of the MOSiR Łódź sports complex, which holds 1,000 spectators. The club also runs teams for girls born between 2009 and 2013.
