Torun Women

The nickname predates the club by decades. When AZS UMK folded, the name did not go with it.

That new club spent its first two years as Nova Trading Toruń before the energy company Energa signed on as sponsor in 2007. Playing in black and orange, Katarzynki reached third place in the Polish league three times, in 2009–10, 2011–12 and 2014–15. The middle of that run coincided with the club's best European form: a group-stage appearance in the Women's EuroLeague in 2014–15, followed by a run to the Round of 16 in the EuroCup Women in 2018–19.

The following season brought the opposite: an 11th-place finish with only three wins in 2019–20. It took several years to climb back into mid-table, with a sixth-placed finish in 2025–26 suggesting the recovery has held. Home games are now played in front of over 6,000 at the Kujawsko-Pomorska Arena, a considerable step up from the smaller halls the club used before 2014.
