AZS UMCS is the university half of that rivalry, playing out of Hala MOSiR im.

The women's section traces back to 1923, formed within the pre-war AZS Lublin association, though it took until the 1965–66 season to reach the country's top flight. The club won its first Polish Cup in 2016, beating Śląsk Wrocław 66:58 in the final, then had to wait until 2023 for the league title itself.

That said, AZS UMCS has tested itself abroad too, reaching the round of 16 in the EuroCup in 2022–23 and taking part in the EuroLeague's group stage the following season.
