That second European crown arrived alongside the FIBA Europe SuperCup Women, and it came from a squad built around Natália Hejková .
The roster has carried WNBA names through Prague on the way to those titles — Alyssa Thomas and DeWanna Bonner among the more recent ones — but the rivalry that matters most locally is not international.
None of it explains why a university sports club in Prague ended up fielding one of Europe's best women's teams, except that it started in 1953 as exactly that: a basketball section of the University Sports Club, long before European trophies were something a Czech team could reasonably expect to win.
