Kénik have spent recent seasons chasing what has eluded them since the club existed: the Czech league title. Runner-up finishes in 2017/18 and 2018/19 marked the closest they came.

The 2017/18 campaign stands apart. That year KP Brno beat Sokol Hradec Králové to lift the Czech Cup, adding it to a Central Europe Women's League title won the previous season. Further back, in 1981/82, the club reached the final of the Ronchetti Cup before losing to Spartak Moscow.

Home games are played at Sportovní hala Vodova, known locally as the Velká hala Vodova, in front of a crowd capped at 2,900. The green and white of Kénik — a nickname pulled from Královo Pole, the district that gave the club its name — has been worn by players who went on to define Czech women's basketball, among them Olga Přídalová-Mikulášková.

That production line traces back to a factory works team. KP Brno began in 1960 as TJ KPS Brno.
