The Ahmet Cömert Sport Hall in Ataköy seats 3,500, a modest capacity that reflects where Emlak Konut Women's Basketball Club still stands in Istanbul: a club that has never carried the weight of the city's established names. Fenerbahçe, Galatasaray and Beşiktaş have long shared the top tier among themselves; Emlak Konut arrived only in August 2017, formed with backing from the real-estate company whose name it carries.

The route up was quick. Promotion came in the 2021–22 season, when the club won the Kadınlar Bölgesel Basketbol Ligi and earned a place in the Kadınlar Basketbol Süper Ligi for 2022–23. In that debut top-flight campaign, Emlak Konut reached the final of the Turkish Cup, a result few newly promoted sides manage. ÇBK Mersin beat them there, and did so again when the two met in the same final in 2024–25. The league title and the cup itself have both stayed out of reach so far.

Behind the first team, the club's youth structure has produced results of its own: the girls' team took the national youth league championship in June 2022, evidence that the pipeline built alongside the senior side is not incidental to it. The current roster mixes Turkish internationals such as Ferda Yıldız with imports including Sydney Wiese and Alanna Smith, though it is the club's identity as the challenger to Istanbul's "Big Three" — rather than any one player — that defines its short history.

Blue and white, the colours behind the "Blue Angels" nickname, have been on court in Ataköy since a real-estate sponsor decided the city needed one more women's basketball club, in 2017.
