Two Istanbul clubs sit across the city from Beşiktaş's women, and both have been a fixture of the fixture list. Matches against Fenerbahçe are called the "ezeli rakip" – the arch-rival – or simply the Istanbul Derby. Galatasaray supplies the second rivalry.

The Turkish Women's Basketball Super League came to the club in 1984 and 1985, and then not again until 2005. The Turkish President's Cup followed a year later, in 2006. In between came the Turkish Cup, which Beşiktaş reached four times as a finalist – 1997, 2002, 2005 and 2007 – and never won.

The Siyah Beyazlılar , as the basketball branch of the multi-sport Beşiktaş Jimnastik Kulübü is also known, were founded in 1956. Their home is the BJK Akatlar Arena, which holds 3,200 for basketball. The WNBA's Courtney Vandersloot, Cappie Pondexter, Candice Wiggins and Jantel Lavender, and Milica Dabović from Serbia played there. Among the Turkish internationals to wear the shirt was Gülşah Akkaya.

The most recent run reached furthest abroad. In the 2023–24 EuroCup Women, Beşiktaş beat Spar Girona in the semi-finals and went to the final, where London Lions beat them. That is the club's only European final in this account, and the EuroCup is still without a Beşiktaş name on it. The EuroLeague Women title has never been theirs either, and the Turkish Cup remains unwon.
