Trutnov Women

USK Praha and Žabiny Brno have taken most of the titles KARA Trutnov never quite finished collecting, and that gap explains the club better than any table does: a side from a small Bohemian town that kept finishing third when the big two finished first, without ever settling into being anyone's rival in the strict sense.

The club traces back to 1946, when it started life as Sokol Trutnov, and it carried the name Lokomotiva through the communist era before sponsorship rewrote the sign outside the hall more than once — Kara from 2005, Loko again for a few seasons, then Kara once more. Through all of it the badge kept the dragon from the town's coat of arms, ball in its claws.

The championship came three times, in 1995/96, 1998/99 and 2001/02, and Trutnov reached a final again in 2003/04 only to finish second. What the club built instead was a habit of the bronze medal — eleven of them across two decades, a run that peaked under Jozef Rešetár in the mid-2010s without ever tipping back into gold. Abroad, Trutnov found its ceiling higher: the Central European Women's League was won twice, in 2010 and 2012, and the club also took its basketball into the Ronchetti Cup and the EuroLeague.

Milena Prokešová wore the captaincy longest and is the name still attached to the club's better years, the player supporters mention first when they talk about what Trutnov was before the sponsors' logos started changing.
