Krystyna Zagórska captained Ślęza to the Polish Championship in the 1986/1987 season, and it took thirty years to add a second: the title returned in 2016/2017 under a squad built around Nikki Greene, Marissa Kastanek and Sharnee Zoll. Between those two seasons lies a gap the record books don't explain on their own — financial trouble forced the team to fold in 2003, and it took until 2011, working back through the 1KS Ślęza Wrocław structure under the name WTK Ślęza, to be reconstituted. The Basket Liga Kobiet, the country's top flight, did not see them again until 2014/2015.

The women's section traces to 1953, when Eugeniusz Spisacki founded it within a multi-sport club established eight years earlier, on 16 June 1945. It shares Wrocław with WKS Śląsk Wrocław, the men's side, but the two run as separate clubs.

Yellow and red carried the club to a Polish Cup final appearance in 1998/1999, lost, and again in 2015/2016, also lost. The wait for the trophy itself ran to the 2025/2026 season, settled 87–68 against AZS AJP Gorzów Wielkopolski. In Europe, Ślęza has entered the EuroCup Women in every season since 2017/2018 without getting past the round of 32.

Home games are played at the KGHM Ślęza Arena on ulica Kłokoczycka, a ground that seats 1,176 for basketball — among the smaller arenas in the league, and one reason away support from KGHM BC Polkowice, the opponent in the Lower Silesian Derby, tends to stand out on matchday.

Two championships separated by three decades and a five-year absence from the top flight: that is the shape of the club's history in a single line.
