Adam Uche Idah

Adam Idah scored in a penalty shootout against Czechia in the World Cup play-offs, though Ireland lost the tie. It is one of six goals the Cork-born forward has scored in 40 caps for the Republic of Ireland.

His route to the senior side began at College Corinthians in Cork, where he played from 2007 until 2017, before he moved to the Norwich City academy. He signed his first professional contract there on 4 July 2019 and was given shirt number 35 for 2019–20. He made his Ireland debut on 3 September 2020 in a Nations League match against Bulgaria.

At Norwich he made more than 100 league appearances and scored 12 goals. The club won the EFL Championship in 2020–21. He was also nominated for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award.

Celtic was where his scoring rate rose. He joined on loan in January 2024, wore number 9 and scored eight goals in 15 league appearances. The move became permanent in August 2024 for a reported fee of between £8.5 million and £9.5 million. In September 2024 he won the SPFL Goal of the Month award.

For Ireland his goals have come in different settings. He scored against Gibraltar in a Euro 2024 qualifier on 19 June 2023 and against the Netherlands that September. In March 2025 he converted a penalty against Bulgaria in the Nations League relegation play-off. On 6 September 2025 he scored a late equaliser against Hungary in World Cup qualifying.

Days later he left Celtic for Swansea City on a five-year contract, for a fee of about £6.9 million.
