About the player
At 199 centimetres, Abdou Karim Sow is a central defender who played for Estavayer-le-Lac, Fribourg, Central FR and BSC Young Boys, where he won the Swiss U18 Championship in the 2020/21 season. He signed his first professional contract with Lausanne-Sport in March 2021 and made his senior debut that August against FC Basel.
Rather than push straight into the first-team picture, Sow spent the 2023–2024 season on loan at FC Stade Nyonnais, where regular Challenge League football gave him 26 appearances and an assist. The loan served its purpose: he returned to Lausanne-Sport in June 2024 and signed a new contract running to 2028.
Internationally, Sow has represented Switzerland at youth level, collecting seven caps for the U19 side in 2021 and three more for the U20s in 2022. He has not yet featured for the senior national team.
