Aleksandar Lyubenov

Aleksandar Lyubenov made his debut in the Bulgarian top flight on 17 August 2014 against Botev Plovdiv. He played only twice in the league in that first spell, and the club sent him out on loan to Septemvri Simitli, where he made ten league appearances.

The pattern of loans continued. A move to Lokomotiv Plovdiv in 2016 brought no senior games, and he was passed straight on to Lokomotiv Sofia for the 2016–2017 season. Back at Levski for 2017–2018, he made two more league appearances, one of them against Ludogorets Razgrad on 17 September 2017. In January 2018 he went to Botev Vratsa until the end of the season and played five league matches there. Lokomotiv Sofia took him on loan again for 2018–2019.

Levski won the league in 2013/14 and 2019/20, but Lyubenov was not a key part of either campaign, and he has no senior trophies.

In 2019 he left Levski for good and joined Hebar Pazardzhik, where he stayed until 2021. That June he came back to Lokomotiv Sofia on a free transfer, on a contract reported to run until 30 June 2027.

His international record is at youth level: nine caps for Bulgaria's under-19 side in 2013 and 2014, and one for the under-21s in 2015–2016. He has not played for the senior national team.
