Martin Velichkov

Martin Velichkov came up through OFC Kostinbrod and then Slavia Sofia, where he was registered with the senior squad in 2017–2018 without making an appearance. That season he was sent on loan to Strumska Slava and played once. He then moved to FC Pesch and made 18 appearances. In 2019 he left for Germany, joining Fortuna Köln.

The return to Bulgaria in 2022 was with Sportist Svoge. He played 13 games in the Vtora Liga and one in the promotion play-offs, and the club went up to the First Professional League for 2023–24. On 8 June 2023 he signed for Etar Veliko Tarnovo. In December 2023 he was named Best Bulgarian Goalkeeper in the First League for the mid-season. In the Bulgarian Football Awards that year he received one vote for Most Improved Young Player in the 63rd BASJ survey. A year later, journalists Boris Borisov and Yavor Pirogov both gave him votes for Best Goalkeeper in the 64th survey.

Spartak Varna signed him on a free transfer in June 2024, and he played 32 times in 2024–2025. On 8 June 2025 he joined Lokomotiv Sofia, again on a free transfer, with a contract to 30 June 2027. He has made 28 league appearances for the club.

His senior international career began late. He made his Bulgaria debut on 27 March 2026 as a substitute in a friendly against Solomon Islands, which Bulgaria won 10–2. He made his first start on 5 June 2026 against Moldova, a 2–2 draw. He has two caps.
