About the player
Bozhidar Katsarov has a Second League title from the 2018/19 season, won with Tsarsko Selo Sofia. It came in the middle of the defender's longest spell at one club: he joined in January 2017 and played 78 league games for Tsarsko Selo, scoring 11 goals.
He started in Nova Zagora. Zagorets was his first professional club from 2014, and he made 32 league appearances there and scored six goals. That was a good return for a centre-back. It led to a move to Pirin Razlog in early 2016, where he added two goals in 11 games. Septemvri Sofia followed, with 14 appearances and no goals, before Tsarsko Selo came in.
Etar Veliko Tarnovo signed him permanently in January 2020, and he played 35 league games there over a single season. In July 2021 he moved to Lokomotiv Sofia and made 60 league appearances. One of those brought his only goal for the club. He left in July 2023 for Krumovgrad, where he played 47 league games and scored four times before the end of 2024.
He then went back to Lokomotiv Sofia on a free transfer in December 2024. His return was soon tested in the Bulgarian Cup. Lokomotiv went out in the round of 16 to Botev Plovdiv, losing 1–5.
