About the player
Daniel Bielica left Górnik Zabrze on a free transfer in June 2024. He signed for NAC Breda on a contract running to 2027 and became their first-choice goalkeeper in the Eredivisie.
His route to that point was gradual. He started out at Zaborze Zabrze, moved to Górnik's academy in 2015 and played for the club's second team while working towards the senior squad, which he joined in 2017. Regular first-team football came through two loans: Sandecja Nowy Sącz in 2019–20, then Warta Poznań the following season.
Bielica came back from Poznań as Górnik's first choice from the 2021/22 season and kept the position. He played more than 80 matches for the club in all competitions. In 2023/24, his last year there, he kept 10 clean sheets.
At NAC he made 65 league appearances between 2024 and 2026. He kept five clean sheets in the 2024/25 Eredivisie season.
On 24 July 2026 he moved to England, joining Portsmouth for a fee of about €600,000, which could rise to €700,000 with bonuses. He signed a three-year contract that runs until 30 June 2029.
