About the player
David Douline came through the Saint-Étienne academy, where he reached the final of the Coupe Gambardella in 2011. What followed was several years working through the lower rungs of French football: reserve football at Évian Thonon Gaillard, then a run through Monts d'Or Azergues Foot, Le Puy Foot 43 and Clermont Foot.
The turn came at Rodez AF, where a loan move in 2018 was made permanent a year later after the club won the Championnat National 1. In the 2020–21 season, playing in Ligue 2, he was named to the division's Team of the Year.
He joined Servette FC on a free transfer in June 2021, moving into Swiss football in midfield. The Geneva club has given him a Swiss Cup winner's medal, from the 2023–24 final against FC Lugano, though Douline watched that game from the bench rather than the pitch. He has not been capped by the France senior national team.
