Steve Rouiller

Steve Rouiller's path to Servette FC's back line ran through some of Switzerland's smaller grounds. He started out in Sion's youth ranks, then spent three years at FC Monthey, where he made 62 league appearances and scored seven goals before a second spell at Sion. His senior league debut came late by modern standards, in October 2014, once he had already left Sion for the first time and returned. Spells at Chiasso and Lugano followed, before he joined Servette in 2018 on a free transfer.

At Servette he has become a fixture, passing 240 league appearances and contributing 20 goals. He was part of the side that won the Swiss Challenge League in 2018–19, and lifted the Swiss Cup with the club in 2023–24. He has also finished as a Swiss Super League runner-up twice, in 2022–23 and again in 2024–25. In 2024 he signed a contract extension with Servette that runs until 2027.

Recognition at international level arrived. Rouiller received his first call-up to the Swiss national team in June 2024 and made his debut that month in a friendly against Hungary, which Switzerland won 3–2. He was named in Switzerland's squad for the 2024 European Championship, though he did not feature in the tournament itself.
