About the player
Fortuna Sittard added Édouard Michut in November 2024 on a free transfer. Michut joined Paris Saint-Germain's youth ranks in 2016 after starting out at FC Le Chesnay 78 and FC Versailles, and he made his first-team debut for the Parisians in 2021, going on to make six league appearances and win the Ligue 1 title in the 2021–22 season.
His broader career since then has been shaped by loans and moves abroad. Sunderland took him on loan for the 2022–23 season, and he made 24 league appearances and scored once on Wearside, though the English club chose not to trigger its option to sign him permanently. A loan to Adana Demirspor followed for 2023–24, and the Turkish side activated a buy clause in January 2024 to sign him until 2027 — but his time there yielded only two league appearances before his contract was terminated in August 2024, clearing the way for his switch to Fortuna Sittard.
Michut has represented France at every youth level from under-16 to under-20, including seven caps and a goal at U20 level. One moment from his time at PSG stands out: he scored the fastest goal in UEFA Youth League history, needing just 11 seconds to find the net against Salzburg in 2022.
