About the player
António Eiro joined Lokomotiv Sofia on a free transfer on 23 July 2026, signing a two-year contract.
His youth career was spread across several clubs: FC Porto, Dragon Force, Abambres SC and Boavista FC. He then returned to SC Vila Real, where he began as a senior. In 2021 he moved to SC Braga and played for the Sub-23 side and the B team. He signed a professional contract with the club that ran until 2023.
The next step came in July 2024, when he left Braga for FC Felgueiras 1932 on a free transfer. The two seasons at Felgueiras were the longest stretch of regular second-division football in his career. He made 51 league appearances in the Liga Portugal 2 across 2024/25 and 2025/26. He did not score in those games but set up two goals, and he was booked seven times without being sent off.
Eiro is a right-footed defender. At Lokomotiv he will be looking to carry that regular football into a new league.
