Federico Ravaglia

In December 2023, Federico Ravaglia faced three Inter Milan penalty-takers in a Coppa Italia tie and saved from Lautaro Martínez, Bastoni and Bonny. He has saved six penalties in his career.

He is a Bologna native and came through the club's academy. Before he settled at the top, he was sent out on loan four times. Südtirol gave him one appearance in 2018–19, Gubbio 24 in 2019–20, and Frosinone 27 in 2021–22. At Reggina in 2022–23 he played four times before Bologna recalled him early because of injuries to their goalkeepers. His Serie A debut for Bologna had come in December 2020.

At 197 centimetres he is a tall goalkeeper, and the role Bologna gave him was largely that of understudy. In 2024–25, when the club won the Coppa Italia, Łukasz Skorupski was first choice. Ravaglia played in the earlier rounds, the semi-final against Empoli among them. In the final, a 1–0 win over AC Milan on 14 May 2025, he was on the bench.

He has never played for Italy at any level. A call-up to the Under-19 side was lost to the pandemic.

On 31 July 2026 he left Bologna for Watford of the EFL Championship on a six-year contract. The fee was reported as €1–2 million up front, rising to as much as €8 million if Watford win promotion to the Premier League. Bologna kept a buy-back clause, which lapses on promotion. Medical checks briefly delayed the deal.
