About the player
Gideon Kodua captained West Ham's Under-18 side to the FA Youth Cup in 2023 , the highest point of a youth career that began at Newham District. He moved to the West Ham academy in 2017 and signed his first professional contract in December 2022.
His route into senior football has run through loans. Wycombe Wanderers took him for the second half of the 2023–24 season, and he made 10 appearances without scoring. He went back to Wycombe for the whole of 2024–25 and played 25 times. He scored three goals, one of them a late winner against Rotherham United in March 2025.
Kodua came to Luton Town on loan for the 2025–26 season. The centre-forward scored 10 goals in 31 appearances. Luton then activated an option to buy on 6 February 2026, so the transfer became permanent before the loan had run its course.
Kodua is right-footed. He is eligible to play for Ghana through his parents, but has not been capped by either Ghana or England at senior level.
