Kallum Lachlan Alexander Naismith

Kal Naismith has now been at Luton Town twice, and the second time he came back as captain. Manager Matt Bloomfield named him club captain for 2025–26 after he signed on a free transfer in June 2025. He had already returned on loan from Bristol City the previous January, making ten appearances. In that first season back the club won the EFL Trophy.

His first spell began in January 2021, when Luton signed him for a reported £1.5m. He played 64 times and scored three goals, and in 2021–22 he was named the club's Player of the Season. Bristol City signed him on a three-year deal in May 2022. He made 44 league appearances there and scored once.

Naismith came through the Rangers academy in Glasgow and played 17 league games for the first team between 2011 and 2013. He also had loan spells at Cowdenbeath, where he scored twice in nine appearances, and Partick Thistle. Rangers won the Scottish Third Division in 2012–13, the season he left the club by mutual consent.

He rebuilt his career in England, starting at Accrington Stanley, where he scored 14 goals in 73 appearances over two seasons. That return is notable for a defender. At Portsmouth he scored 18 goals in 82 league games, and the club won League Two in 2016–17. He then spent close to three years at Wigan Athletic, scoring six goals in 79 appearances before leaving by mutual consent in January 2021.

For Scotland he played at youth level only, with four appearances and one goal for the Under-16s and eight for the Under-17s.
