About the player
Himad Abdelli came through Le Havre's academy, joining the club's youth system as a boy and staying until 2018, when he made his professional debut for the senior side in a Coupe de la Ligue match against Troyes. He went on to make 76 appearances for Le Havre and scored five goals before his contract ran out in 2022.
He moved to Angers SCO that summer on a free transfer, signing a four-year deal, and became a fixture in midfield there. He was later nominated for the Prix Marc-Vivien Foé.
Abdelli holds Algerian nationality and made his international debut in June 2023 against Uganda, going on to earn caps for the national side. He was part of the Algeria squad that reached the quarter-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations in 2025.
In February 2026 he moved to Olympique de Marseille, with the transfer fee reported at close to €3 million plus bonuses. A right-footed midfielder, he has yet to add a major team title to his name since arriving at the club.
