Harrison Charles Ashby

Harrison Ashby left West Ham United for Newcastle United in January 2023 after a single senior appearance for the club. The fee was reported at £3 million. He had been at West Ham since 2010, when he joined the academy aged nine after starting out at Chelsea, and he signed his first professional contract there in 2020.

Newcastle have not been where he has played his football. He has spent the years since on loan, with a contract at St James' Park that runs until June 2026.

The first loan was at Swansea City in 2023–24. He made 13 league appearances and scored his first senior competitive goal, against Preston North End. Queens Park Rangers followed in 2024–25, and that was his busiest spell: 29 league appearances. In 2026 he moved to Bradford City and played eight League One games. He also spent a loan spell at Luton Town that year.

He qualifies for Scotland through his mother, and he came through the country's youth teams. He won one cap at under-17 level in 2018 and five at under-19 in 2019. His three under-21 caps came between 2020 and 2021. One of them brought a goal, in a 7–0 win over San Marino in October 2020.

He is right-footed and has not yet won a senior team title.
