Ignatius Ganago

Ignatius Ganago grew up in the Brasseries du Cameroun academy in Douala before a free transfer took him to OGC Nice in 2017. He was promoted to the first team the same year and marked his Ligue 1 debut, on 9 September 2017 against Monaco.

He stayed at Nice until 2020, when RC Lens paid €6 million for him. He opened his account for the club in a 1-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain that September and spent two seasons in the north before Nantes signed him in 2022 for a fee of €3.5 million plus bonuses.

In January 2025, with an option to buy attached, Nantes loaned Ganago to New England Revolution for the MLS season. He made his league debut against Nashville SC in February, then got his first MLS goal and an assist in the same match against New York City FC in April, form that earned him a place in the MLS Team of the Matchday in Week 9. The loan ran its course through the end of the season, and he returned to Nantes afterwards.

With Cameroon, Ganago has earned 15 caps. He was part of the squad that took bronze at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, staged on home soil. He holds both Cameroonian and Nigerian citizenship and plays as a right-footed forward.
